Local blogger Nicole Leffew began Where Your Heart Is Now in the fall of 2015 as a hobby, and has grown it into a popular online destination for fashionistas in Columbus and beyond. We spoke to Leffew via email about her blog, where she finds inspiration, and her favorite style advice.
You've been blogging for quite some time. What made you decide to start blogging?
I honestly started my blog as a hobby. I graduated with a degree in Fashion and Merchandising and thought a blog would be a fun creative outlet for me. I didn't take it seriously in the beginning. I would just have my mom and my husband take some iPhone photos of me to post whenever I felt like - until a brand reached out to me to collaborate. Wait, me? Did they email the right person? I remember being so excited, I think I might have screamed. It was then that I really started researching blogging and decided to invest in a camera and take it more seriously.
What advice would you give to someone just starting a lifestyle or fashion blog?
Stay true to yourself. Decide what you want your blog to be about and focus on that! Stay consistent and be organized (this helps so much!) Don't be afraid to reach out to other bloggers. Stay humble!
Where do you find inspiration for your posts?
I find inspiration everywhere! Pinterest, street style, magazines and other bloggers.
How would you describe your personal style?
Trendy, feminine, modern, me.
What is the best style advice you've ever received?
Invest in staple pieces.
